The EGG Steam Group

Postby Seakas on Thu Oct 08, 2009 6:13 am

Ok, the first phase of the mission being semi complete (ie recruitment) we can now move onto phase two of the amazing steam plan!

Summary of phase one:

Phase two:
With holidays about to start, that means you might not be coming in to uni for a while, and yet, you still want to play games with club members right?
Well, fortunately for you, phase one has helped bring about a solution to this problem! That being the invention of game afternoons/nights/weekends/iono!
Steps that need to be completed in phase two:
  • continue to get more egg members in the egg steam group
  • make list of multiplayer games people have on steam / are willing to purchase off steam
  • list of multiplayer games that arent on steam, that people have and would like to play
  • create events so that everyone remembers to get their shit together
  • play games together online from the comfort of your darkened room!

Phase three:
Well, we have had two successful game days so far, those being TF2 and Killing Floor. So now we have most current active members in the steam group. Now begins the third phase
  • Think up a few weekends worth of game days, can be games we have already had days for or new games coming out. Bioshock 2 MP might be an option for one weekend
  • Make sure new members know about the group (since it isnt in the booklet you get when joining [as far as i know])
  • Also, as well as competitive games, coop games would also be a good idea. I know some of us had lots of fun playing minecraft for a few weeks (ill prob make a new server for the new year)

Now, i know there will be some people who are all like ">buy games" but if you dont already own the games, they are usually really really cheap, just last week they put assassins creed on special for $5. So another thing would be looking out for the weekend deals they sometimes do in case there are good multiplayer games, that way we could get them and all play for the weekend... because ultimately, $5 or so for (at the very least) a days entertainment is easily worth it.

I've joined, but note that most of the time, when I log on, it won't be me. My brother uses my account to play TF2 since he's to cheap to buy his own copy.

Read first post again, edits have been made!

Also, looking for 3 bros to buy either the l4d2 pack, or a borderlands pack. Im fine with either, basically its a buy 4 for the price of 3 deal, so we all get it cheaper

L4D2 = $134.99 = $33.75 US each
Borderlands = $134.97 = $33.75 US each

so yeah, anyone wanting to get the pack? (note: you should be at least 60% willing to then play the game online with the other 3)

OK!! Holidays are now very very close, so here is what i need:
  • Days that people would prefer steam events to occur
  • Times for the events to occur
  • Games you would like to play

Get these answered as soon as possible and i will have events ready for the holidays!!

I should be able to play most nights (after work) come the holidays.

With that said, I recently reformatted my HDD, so if anyone could pass the install/backup files, that would be very great ^_^

As for games, I'm up for anything (and I'll buy new games if need be). Its been awhile since I played TF2 and I'd also like to try out Borderlands.

At the moment I'm free pretty much any time. Hopefully I'll have a job sometime soon though, so that may change.

Also im free on most nights and i dont have any more exams and will be happy to play tf2 :D
