GENERAL BUSINESS

Proposed changes to Exec Committee

• Beani web mistress put forward by Brinton
  • Seconded by Rel
  • Beani accepts
  • No objections
  • Motion passed
• Geale thinks that phil should be an exec
  • Toho advisor?
  • Expand the PR role into two people
• Vote to expand the PR position into two positions
  • Leave until next meeting
  • Require the people to be present

Fundraising

• Sell chocolates
  • To people other than ourselves
  • Perhaps to people coming in or out of exams
  • To people on the street
  • Need to organize a time and day to go out and sell chocolates
• BBQ – after o’day to get the new members
• Note to exec – organize stuff

EGG and the holidays

• EGGLan and EGGsmas – one event
• Have to charge for eggsmas
  • Possible bar tab
  • Or food tab
• Laser tag – joint club event
• EGGLan – set up properly with consoles

Budget

• Normally don’t get much income over the holiday period
• Raise money to pay for events over the holiday period
• Lans pay for themselves
• Most events pay for themselves
• Geale wants to buy burnout 1,2 and 3
  • Draws in the mooks

O’day 2008

• Planning to hold it outside
• We need to be inside
• Half of the concourse to set up everything properly
• Stage usually takes up half of the concourse
• Noise is an issue – guitar hero, rock band
• Talk to penny about our location
• Need as big a space as possible
• EGGLan for O’day
• Projector – perhaps, would be nice
• Could put some PCs out - portal
• Host a CS:S server
• Set up a couple of tournies to run through the day
• Couple of the exec to run it and make sure nothing gets stolen
• Everyone else deals with consoles and signing up new members
• Staffing – we will need 8 or so people there all day (basically the whole exec)

Promotions

• Jay to find out about promo stuff – Haymarket media
  • Email the marketing and promotions people
• Squishy balls – don’t really need them
  • Not really worth it
• Magazines and demo cds would be a better idea to give away with membership at O’day
• See if Lei can get us free stuff for o’day
• Need to have all the cards organized – design and get them printed
  • Perhaps have the website on the card
  • Website on the front of the card
• Wow server set up
  • Dummy server set up
  • See if we can get the ports unblocked
  • Private server?
• Poster that states all the games that we play at egg

EGG room

• Union has no space
• Find a room, talk to the faculty and deck it out like a postgraduate room
• There may be a chance with the merging of the faculties

OTHER BUSINESS

• Stepmania pads
  • Build a stepmania cabinet
  • Make a coinbox to get people to pay for using it
  • Set it up in the concourse or the glasshouse
  • Glasshouse arcade room has an agreement so we cant put anything in there
  • Talk to mike and penny about setting it up in the glasshouse
  • Otherwise put in the asshmore smith room
  • Arcade cabinet – can play other games on it
  • Buy the boards then we have licences to use songs
    • Perhaps having it free for consoles for members
    • Have to have someone checking membership cards
• Rock band
  • O’day should pay for rock band
  • Tie it in with a promotion
  • Set it up on the stage or on the concourse
  • Import or wait for it to get here
  • Nov 27th US release
  • Otherwise early 2008
  • Wait until early February to get it
• Should have an event after O’day
  • Every exec and people helping shouldn’t be playing games all day on O’day
  • New members can show up and meet the rest of the club
  • Need something to draw people back in
  • Arcade crawls, cityhunter – in the past
  • Suggest that people come down to the harry heath room and ashmore smith room
  • After o’day is finished, egg having an event
  • Get food – pizza etc.
  • Interested people will show up
